This Boston Cream Fudge combines the classic flavors of a Boston cream pie into a rich and creamy fudge. With layers of smooth vanilla custard-like fudge and a decadent chocolate topping, this treat is perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
**For the Fudge Base:**
– 2 cups white chocolate chips
– 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
– 1/2 cup butter
– 1/4 cup heavy cream
– 1 box (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
– 2 cups powdered sugar
**For the Chocolate Topping:**
– 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
– 1/4 cup heavy cream
– 1 tbsp butter
Instructions
1. Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
2. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the white chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, butter, and heavy cream. Stir until melted and smooth.
3. Remove from heat and whisk in the vanilla pudding mix and vanilla extract.
4. Gradually add the powdered sugar, stirring until fully combined and smooth.
5. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
6. In a separate saucepan, heat the heavy cream and butter until warm (but not boiling). Remove from heat and stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until melted and glossy.
7. Pour the chocolate topping over the fudge base, spreading evenly.
8. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours or until fully set.
9. Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
– For a firmer fudge, let it set overnight in the refrigerator.
– Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
– Add a sprinkle of sea salt on top for a gourmet touch.
