Description

A fusion twist on a classic sandwich featuring tender, marinated bulgogi beef served on a crusty roll with crisp greens, fresh cucumber, and a zesty spicy mayo. This Korean-inspired creation is perfect for a hearty lunch or satisfying dinner.

Ingredients

### For the Bulgogi Beef:

– 1 lb thinly sliced beef sirloin (or ribeye), cut against the grain

– 1/4 cup soy sauce

– 2 tbsp brown sugar

– 1 tbsp sesame oil

– 2 garlic cloves, minced

– 1 tsp grated fresh ginger

– 1/2 tsp black pepper

– 1 tbsp rice vinegar

– 1 tbsp gochujang (optional, for extra spice)

### For the Sandwich:

– 4 crusty sandwich rolls (brioche, ciabatta, or baguette)

– 1 cup shredded lettuce or mixed greens

– 1 small cucumber, thinly sliced

– 1/2 cup pickled radish or kimchi (optional)

– 1/4 cup spicy mayo (mix equal parts mayonnaise and Sriracha)

– Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, black pepper, rice vinegar, and gochujang (if using). Add the beef slices, ensuring each piece is well coated. Marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 4 hours in the refrigerator).

2. Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef in batches and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until caramelized and just cooked through. Transfer cooked beef to a plate and keep warm.

3. Slice the sandwich rolls in half and toast lightly, if desired.

4. Spread a generous layer of spicy mayo on both sides of each roll. Layer on the shredded greens, a few slices of cucumber, and a spoonful of pickled radish or kimchi (if using).

5. Top with a generous portion of the hot bulgogi beef. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and add extra spicy mayo if you like.

6. Close the sandwich, slice in half if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

– For deeper flavor, marinate the beef overnight in the refrigerator.

– Feel free to customize your sandwich with additional toppings like a fried egg or sliced avocado.

– This recipe works great served with a side of fries or a crisp salad.
