Description

These Cheddar Bay Biscuits are a copycat version of the famous Red Lobster biscuits. They are soft, cheesy, and buttery, making them the perfect addition to any meal. With a crispy exterior and a melt-in-your-mouth interior, these biscuits are incredibly easy to make and packed with flavor.

Ingredients

– 2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 tablespoon baking powder

– 1 teaspoon garlic powder

– 1 teaspoon onion powder

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

– 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

– 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

– 3/4 cup whole milk

– 1 large egg

– 2 tablespoons melted butter (for brushing)

– 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (for brushing)

– 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley (for brushing)

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and cayenne pepper (if using).

3. Add the cold cubed butter to the dry ingredients and cut it into the flour mixture using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

4. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.

5. Add the milk and egg to the mixture and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

6. Drop spoonfuls of the biscuit dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.

8. While the biscuits are baking, mix the melted butter, garlic powder, and dried parsley in a small bowl.

9. Brush the garlic butter mixture over the biscuits as soon as they come out of the oven.

10. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

– For extra cheesy flavor, you can add more cheddar cheese to the dough or sprinkle additional cheese on top before baking.

– These biscuits are best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.

– For a more golden color, brush the biscuits with the garlic butter mixture twice—once before baking and once after baking.
