Description

Crostini are small, crispy toasted bread slices, typically topped with a variety of savory ingredients. Perfect as an appetizer or snack, they are versatile and can be customized with different toppings like cheese, meats, or spreads.

Ingredients

– 1 baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch thick slices

– 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

– 1 garlic clove, peeled

– Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet in a single layer.

3. Brush each slice with olive oil.

4. Toast the bread in the oven for 8-10 minutes, or until golden and crispy.

5. Remove from the oven and immediately rub each crostini with the garlic clove.

6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

7. Serve warm with your choice of toppings.

Notes

– Crostini can be made in advance and stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.

– For more flavor, add fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme to the olive oil before brushing on the bread.

– Top with cheese, olives, or cured meats for a more substantial snack.
