Description

This Easter Bunny Spinach Dip is a fun and festive appetizer perfect for Easter gatherings. A creamy, flavorful spinach dip is served inside a hollowed-out bread bowl shaped like an adorable bunny, making it both delicious and decorative!

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Spinach Dip:

  • 1 (10 oz) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
  • 1 cup (240g) sour cream
  • 1 cup (240g) mayonnaise
  • 1 (1 oz) packet ranch dressing mix
  • 1 cup (100g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 (8 oz) can water chestnuts, drained and chopped (optional)
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

For the Bunny Bread Bowl:

  • 1 large round loaf of bread (e.g., sourdough or boule)
  • 1 small bread roll (for the bunny face)
  • 2 small bread pieces (for ears)
  • 2 black olives (for eyes)
  • 1 cherry tomato or small radish (for the nose)
  • 2 pretzel sticks (for whiskers)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Spinach Dip:

    • In a mixing bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, and ranch dressing mix.
    • Stir in shredded mozzarella, Parmesan, water chestnuts (if using), green onions, garlic powder, and black pepper.
    • Add thawed and well-drained spinach. Mix thoroughly and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to enhance flavors.
  • Create the Bunny Bread Bowl:

    • Cut the top off the large round loaf and hollow out the center, leaving a thick bread shell. Save the removed bread for dipping.
    • Attach the small bread roll to the front using toothpicks to create the bunny’s face.
    • Cut two small oval pieces from extra bread and attach them as bunny ears using toothpicks.
    • Use black olives for eyes, a cherry tomato or radish for the nose, and pretzel sticks for whiskers.
  • Assemble and Serve:

    • Fill the bread bowl with the chilled spinach dip.
    • Serve with fresh vegetables, crackers, or the reserved bread pieces for dipping.

Notes

  • You can make the dip a day ahead for better flavor.
  • Swap out the bread bowl for a hollowed-out cabbage or bell pepper for a low-carb option.
  • Use a store-bought bread bowl for convenience.
