Ingredients
– 1 container (8 oz) Cool Whip, thawed
– 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips, melted
– 2 cups powdered sugar
– 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
– 12 oz chocolate candy coating or melted chocolate for dipping
– Sprinkles or crushed nuts (optional)
Instructions
1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a mixing bowl, combine Cool Whip, melted semisweet chocolate, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth.
3. Place the mixture in the freezer for about 30 minutes or until firm enough to scoop.
4. Using a small cookie scoop or spoon, scoop out portions and roll them into balls. Place them back on the baking sheet.
5. Freeze the candy balls for another 30 minutes to firm up.
6. Melt the chocolate candy coating in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
7. Dip each frozen candy ball into the melted chocolate, using a fork to coat evenly.
8. Place the coated candies back on the parchment-lined baking sheet and add sprinkles or crushed nuts if desired.
9. Let the chocolate set completely before serving. Store in the refrigerator.
Notes
– Keep the candy stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
– For a different flavor, use white chocolate or dark chocolate instead of semisweet.
– If the mixture is too soft to roll, freeze for a bit longer before shaping.
– Add peppermint extract for a festive twist!
