Description

Indulge in the ultimate steak sandwich with tender grilled steak, creamy avocado, and a zesty herb sauce, all served on a toasted baguette. This delicious and hearty sandwich is perfect for lunch or dinner

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 baguette or hoagie rolls (toasted)
  • 1 lb steak (ribeye, sirloin, or flank)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 ripe tomato, sliced
  • 23 leaves of lettuce

Herb Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried dill
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Prep the steak:
    • Rub the steak with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
    • Heat a grill or skillet over high heat and cook the steak to your desired doneness (medium-rare recommended).
    • Let the steak rest for 5 minutes, then slice thinly.
  • Make the herb sauce:
    • In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, parsley, garlic powder, and dill.
    • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Assemble the sandwich:
    • Spread the herb sauce on the inside of the toasted baguette.
    • Layer lettuce, tomato slices, and avocado slices on the bottom half.
    • Add steak slices and drizzle with additional herb sauce if desired.
  • Serve and enjoy:
    • Close the sandwich, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

  • For a smoky flavor, consider grilling the avocado and tomato slices briefly.
  • You can substitute the baguette with whole-grain bread or gluten-free rolls for dietary preferences.
