Description

These Gummy Glazed Donuts are a fun, colorful twist on classic donuts! Soft, fluffy donuts are coated in a sweet, melted gummy glaze, creating a chewy, fruity finish. Perfect for parties, kids’ treats, or anyone with a sweet tooth!

Ingredients

Units Scale
For the Donuts:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • Vegetable oil, for frying (if making fried donuts)
For the Gummy Glaze:
  • 1 cup gummy candies (any flavor or mix)
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (optional, for thickening)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Donut Batter:

    • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
    • In another bowl, mix milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla.
    • Combine the wet and dry ingredients, stirring until just mixed.
  • Cook the Donuts:

    • For Fried Donuts: Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C). Roll dough, cut into donut shapes, and fry until golden brown (about 1-2 minutes per side). Drain on paper towels.
    • For Baked Donuts: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Pipe or spoon batter into a greased donut pan and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until lightly golden.
  • Make the Gummy Glaze:

    • In a heatproof bowl, melt gummy candies with 2 tbsp water using a microwave (30-second intervals, stirring in between) or a double boiler.
    • Stir until smooth. If too thick, add a little more water. If too thin, mix in powdered sugar.
  • Glaze the Donuts:

    • Dip the warm donuts into the melted gummy glaze. Let excess drip off.
    • Place on a wire rack to set. For extra color, drizzle with another melted gummy color or add sprinkles!
  • Serve and Enjoy!

Notes

  • Use different gummy candy flavors for a rainbow glaze!
  • If the glaze hardens while glazing, reheat slightly to loosen.
  • Store in an airtight container to keep the glaze from getting sticky.
