Description

A nutritious twist on the classic ranch dressing, this healthy version is made with protein-packed Greek yogurt, buttermilk, and a blend of fresh herbs. Light yet flavorful, it’s perfect as a salad dressing, veggie dip, or a tasty condiment that complements your favorite dishes without the extra calories.


Ingredients

Base:

1 cup plain nonfat Greek yogurt

1/2 cup low-fat buttermilk

Herbs & Flavorings:

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

1 garlic clove, minced

1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill

1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper, to taste


Instructions

  • Combine Base Ingredients:

    • In a medium bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt and buttermilk until smooth.
  • Add Herbs and Seasonings:

    • Stir in the lemon juice, minced garlic, fresh dill, chives, parsley, and onion powder.
    • Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

 

  • Chill and Serve:

    • Cover the bowl and refrigerate the dressing for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
    • Stir before serving. Adjust the consistency with a little extra buttermilk or water if desired.

Notes

  • For an even lighter version, substitute with low-fat or fat-free buttermilk.
  • The dressing can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • Customize by adding a pinch of smoked paprika or cayenne pepper for a subtle kick.
