Description

This light and creamy dessert is perfect for any occasion! Fluffy angel food cake is layered with a luscious vanilla cream mixture, making every bite pure bliss. Topped with whipped topping and fresh berries, it’s a show-stopping treat for potlucks, holidays, or just because you deserve something sweet!

Ingredients

  • 1 package angel food cake (or 1 prepared angel food cake), cut into cubes

  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix

  • 1 1/2 cups milk

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping (Cool Whip), thawed

  • Fresh berries or fruit (strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries) for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Vanilla Cream Layer:

    • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and milk until smooth and thickened.

    • Stir in the sour cream until fully combined. Set aside.

  2. Make the Cream Cheese Mixture:

    • In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

    • Gently fold in half of the whipped topping until fully incorporated.

  3. Assemble the Dessert:

    • In a large serving dish or trifle bowl, layer half of the cubed angel food cake at the bottom.

    • Spread half of the vanilla pudding mixture over the cake layer.

    • Next, spread half of the cream cheese mixture over the pudding layer.

    • Repeat the layers with the remaining cake, pudding, and cream cheese mixture.

  4. Top it Off:

    • Spread the remaining whipped topping evenly over the top.

    • Garnish with fresh berries, fruit, or even a drizzle of caramel or chocolate syrup if desired.

  5. Chill & Serve:

    • Cover and refrigerate for at least 2–3 hours (or overnight) to allow the flavors to meld.

    • Scoop, serve, and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a lighter version, use low-fat milk, light sour cream, and light whipped topping.

  • Add a layer of fresh berries between the cake and cream layers for extra flavor and texture.

  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
