Description

A tangy and creamy tartar sauce perfect for pairing with seafood dishes. This homemade version blends crisp pickles, capers, and fresh herbs into a smooth, flavorful condiment that enhances fried fish, chips, and other seafood favorites.

 


Ingredients

– 1 cup mayonnaise

– 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

– 1 tablespoon lemon juice

– 2 tablespoons finely chopped dill or sweet pickles

– 1 tablespoon capers, drained and chopped (optional)

– 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh parsley

– Salt and pepper, to taste

– Optional: 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce


Instructions

1. In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and lemon juice until smooth.

2. Stir in the chopped pickles, capers (if using), and fresh parsley.

3. Season with salt and pepper, and add Worcestershire sauce if desired.

4. Mix well to ensure all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

5. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

6. Serve chilled alongside your favorite seafood dishes.

 


Notes

– Adjust the seasoning to suit your taste.

– For a slight kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a dash of hot sauce.

– This sauce can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
