Description

Succulent chicken breasts glazed with a sweet and spicy hot honey sauce, offering a delightful blend of flavors. This dish is perfect for weeknight dinners and pairs well with various sides.

Ingredients

– 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

– 1 tablespoon olive oil

– Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

– 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

– 1 teaspoon garlic powder

– 1 teaspoon onion powder

– 1/2 cup honey

– 1/4 cup hot sauce (adjust to taste)

– 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

– 2 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

– 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)

– Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1. **Preheat the Oven:**

– Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. **Prepare the Chicken:**

– Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.

– In a large oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken breasts for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from heat.

3. **Prepare the Hot Honey Sauce:**

– In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.

– Stir in honey, hot sauce, apple cider vinegar, and cayenne pepper (if using). Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened. Adjust seasoning to taste.

4. **Glaze the Chicken:**

– Pour half of the hot honey sauce over the seared chicken breasts, ensuring they are well coated.

5. **Bake:**

– Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).

6. **Serve:**

– Remove the skillet from the oven. Drizzle the remaining hot honey sauce over the chicken.

– Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm with your choice of sides.

Notes

– **Adjusting Spice Level:** Modify the amount of hot sauce and cayenne pepper to suit your heat preference.

– **Serving Suggestions:** This dish pairs well with roasted vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad.

– **Storage:** Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat thoroughly before consuming.
