Ingredients
– 1 lb Nordic shrimp (cold-water shrimp), cooked and peeled
– 1/4 cup mayonnaise
– 1/4 cup sour cream
– 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
– 1 tablespoon lemon juice
– 1 teaspoon lemon zest
– 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
– 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
– 1/4 teaspoon white pepper (optional)
– 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
– 1/2 cup cucumber, finely diced
– 1/2 cup celery, finely diced
– 1 teaspoon capers, drained and chopped (optional)
– Lettuce leaves or rye bread, for serving
Instructions
1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, lemon zest, dill, chives, salt, black pepper, and white pepper.
2. Add the chopped red onion, cucumber, celery, and capers (if using), and mix well.
3. Gently fold in the cooked Nordic shrimp, making sure they are evenly coated in the dressing.
4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
5. Serve chilled over lettuce leaves or on rye bread for a traditional Nordic-style shrimp sandwich.
