Description

A great recipe for those times when you’re short on time but still need a filling meal to make your family happy. This dish is super easy to prepare, savory, comforting, and hearty—perfect for feeding the whole family without breaking the bank.


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces egg noodles, cooked according to package directions
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 2 cans (30 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 8 ounces sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • Lightly spray a 9×13 baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Cook the pasta according to package directions; when done, drain and rinse.
  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, crumble the ground beef and cook until thoroughly browned. Drain any excess grease.
  • Add the minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; stir well.
  • Stir in the sugar and pour in the tomato sauce, then let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, combine the sour cream and softened cream cheese until smooth.
  • Layer half of the pasta on the bottom of the baking dish.
  • Top the pasta with half of the sour cream and cream cheese mixture, then spoon half of the meat mixture over it.
  • Repeat the layers with the remaining pasta, sour cream mixture, and meat.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top and bake for 20–25 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and lightly browned.
