Description

A fusion of Greek and Mexican flavors, these **Smashed Chicken Gyro Tacos** feature juicy, seasoned chicken smashed onto warm tortillas and topped with creamy tzatziki, fresh veggies, and feta cheese. A quick and delicious meal for any day of the week!

Ingredients

– 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

– 1 tsp olive oil

– 1 tsp dried oregano

– 1/2 tsp garlic powder

– 1/2 tsp onion powder

– 1/2 tsp smoked paprika

– 1/2 tsp salt

– 1/4 tsp black pepper

– 4 small flour or pita tortillas

– 1/2 cup tzatziki sauce

– 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, diced

– 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced

– 1/4 cup cucumber, diced

– 1/4 cup feta cheese, crumbled

– 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped

– Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

1. Cut the chicken breasts into thin cutlets or pound them to an even thickness.

2. In a bowl, mix olive oil, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Coat the chicken evenly.

3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Place a tortilla in the skillet, then add a portion of the seasoned chicken on top.

4. Using a spatula or burger press, firmly smash the chicken onto the tortilla. Cook for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.

5. Flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked. Repeat with remaining tortillas and chicken.

6. Spread tzatziki sauce over each taco, then top with cherry tomatoes, red onion, cucumber, and feta cheese.

7. Garnish with fresh dill and serve with lemon wedges.

8. Enjoy!

Notes

– Use Greek yogurt mixed with garlic, lemon juice, and cucumber if you don’t have tzatziki.

– Pita bread works well as a substitute for tortillas.

– Try adding hummus or kalamata olives for extra Mediterranean flavor.
