Description

These Tiramisu Truffles are decadent, bite-sized treats that capture the classic flavors of tiramisu in a no-bake, chocolate-coated form. Creamy mascarpone meets a hint of espresso and ladyfinger crumbs, then dipped in smooth chocolate—perfect for a sophisticated dessert or a delightful gift.

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Truffle Mixture:

8 oz mascarpone cheese, room temperature

1 cup powdered sugar, sifted

2 tbsp heavy cream

1/4 cup strong espresso, cooled (or substitute with coffee liqueur for an extra kick)

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup finely crushed ladyfingers (or sponge cake crumbs)

For the Coating:

8 oz semi-sweet chocolate (chopped or chips)

Cocoa powder, for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the mascarpone, powdered sugar, heavy cream, espresso, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.
  • Gently fold in the crushed ladyfingers until evenly distributed.
  • Cover the mixture and chill in the refrigerator for about 1 hour to firm up.
  • Once chilled, use a small cookie scoop or teaspoon to form the mixture into uniform balls (about 1 inch in diameter).
  • Melt the semi-sweet chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals (stirring in between) or using a double boiler until smooth.
  • Dip each truffle into the melted chocolate using a fork, allowing excess chocolate to drip off, then place them on a parchment-lined tray.
  • Optionally, dust the truffles lightly with cocoa powder for extra flavor and presentation.
  • Chill the truffles again until the chocolate coating is set, about 15 minutes.

Notes

  • For a lighter texture, you can gently fold in 1/3 cup of whipped heavy cream after chilling the mascarpone mixture.
  • Ensure the espresso is cooled to avoid melting the mascarpone during mixing.
  • These truffles are best served chilled; if they soften at room temperature, refrigerate for 10 minutes before serving.
