Description

These Triple Chocolate Muffins are a chocolate lover’s dream! They feature a rich, moist chocolate base with cocoa powder, melted chocolate, and chocolate chips for an ultra-decadent treat. Perfect for breakfast, dessert, or an indulgent snack!


Ingredients

Dry Ingredients:

  • 1 3/4 cups (220g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup (180ml) buttermilk (or milk + 1 teaspoon vinegar)

Chocolate Additions:

  • 1/2 cup (90g) dark chocolate, melted
  • 3/4 cup (130g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup (90g) white chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven & Prepare Muffin Pan:

    • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease it lightly.
  • Mix Dry Ingredients:

    • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Mix Wet Ingredients:

    • In another bowl, whisk melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until combined.
    • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well.
    • Stir in vanilla extract and buttermilk.
  • Combine Wet & Dry Mixtures:

    • Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
    • Fold in melted dark chocolate.
    • Gently fold in semi-sweet and white chocolate chips.
  • Bake the Muffins:

    • Divide the batter evenly into the muffin cups, filling each about ¾ full.
    • Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Cool & Serve:

    • Let muffins cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
    • Enjoy warm or at room temperature!

Notes

  • For extra gooey muffins, press a few chocolate chips on top before baking.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.
